The pool, finished on July 29, 1914, was a white tile tank twenty-five by seventy-five feet in size with water ranging in depth from four to nine feet. The water was heated to 80 degrees and was filtered, disinfected and changed frequently. As far as can be determined, no contagion had ever occurred from using the pool. The tank was patronized by approximately 2,000 people a month, equally divided between men and women, boys and girls. The pool, which was located directly below the theater is now a meeting room for community organizations, and includes private offices and work stations.
